This week we have had a very exciting time.
On Tuesday it was Shrove Tuesday. It was the day before Lent began. We had a treat and we tasted pancakes. We tried pancakes with jam or lemon and sugar. We really enjoyed them. They were delicious. We read a story about Mr. Wolf and he made some pancakes.
The next day was Ash Wednesday. We had a Liturgy where we talked about spring cleaning our lives and trying to be more like Jesus. We need to sweep the dust away from us in our lives. We talked about the promises we have made. We have made a class promise and we have made a promise to keep at home. We put Alleluia in a box till Easter time because it is too joyful to use during Lent to greet the Gospel. We are going to greet the Gospel by singing Share the word of Jesus instead.
Later on that day we went into the hall and we received ashes. The ashes were made from Palms that had been burnt. The palms were used on Palm Sunday last year. Mr. Kelly and Mrs. Girling put the ashes on our forehead. We said Amen.

I found learning about lent really interesting, I have given up fizzy pop for lent.
