RE
We will talk about our special family
welcome Mass celebrated on Sunday. As part of our Creation theme we will focus
on ourselves, how God made us unique and how we learn about the world about us.
This week are going to talk about how we use our hands in different ways and
how we do good deeds using our hands. We will share our ideas in circle time,
talk about the Wednesday Word and take part in a prayer service. We will talk
about the Autumn changes we can see.
Communication, language and literacy
The Oxford Reading Tree characters are our
focus for speaking, reading and writing this week. We will talk about Kipper’s
family, how they are different and the fun they have. We will listen to the
sounds we can hear in words, playing games and puzzles. We are going to learn how to hold our pencil correctly and form letters.
Mathematics
We will count lots of different objects and
match the numeral with the set – through play and songs. We will play with 2D
and 3D shapes talking about their properties and comparing them.
Physical Development
We will develop our fine motor skills
through threading, cutting and drawing. The large wheeled toys will be explored
and during PE we will practise getting dressed and undressed, moving, stopping
and finding a space.
Understanding the world/Expressive arts and
design.
We are going to make leaf rubbings and
prints using the autumn colours and leaves we have collected. We will draw and
paint pictures of ourselves and Kipper’s family. Our role play area will be
Kipper’s House and we can pretend to be in Kipper’s family. In music we will
use Music Express and Charanga music resources, experimenting with our voices
and percussion instruments. We join Key Stage One for singing on Wednesdays.
