We are going to recap our prior learning to date, what special season are we in at the moment? What colour reminds us of Lent? How many days in Lent? Who are we trying to be like and how? How can we make the right choices? Think of our Lenten promises.
We will talk about Holy Week - that it is the week before Easter when we remember the last days of Jesus’ life. We will learn the first day of this special week starts with Palm Sunday – and read the story of Palm Sunday from the Bible,
We will role play the story of Palm Sunday, dressing in clothes like those in Jesus’s time would have worn. We will wave Palms and the sing ‘Hosanna’’
During our Lent Prayer circle – How can we be like Jesus?
We will share the Wednesday word and read stories from the Bible.
Communication, language and literacy
Our traditional story this week is “The Three Billy Goats Gruff”. We will read, retell, talk about characters, role play, draw and write about the story. We will continue to hear and write sounds in words and practice our letter formation.
We will write shared sentences together.

Mathematics
We will revise positional language describing Wilf’s position e.g. above, under, behind, beside, next to.
We will build the bridge from the Three Billy Goats Gruff story and then use positional language to describe where the troll is hiding.
We are going to revise the language of subtraction – taking away a given number of objects from a set– taking away, how many are left? Leaves, less, fewer.
We will practise our number recognition and ordering to 20, halving fruit and sharing objects in a group.
Shop role play – we will handle money and use speaking and listening skills in the context of a shop role play.
Physical Development
PE session – travel over large apparatus
Outdoor wheeled toys, hoops, role play
Dough gym, handwriting, threading activity
Health and decay.

Observation of bean growth.
