Week beginning 20/4/15


RE
Easter - We are going to look and talk about the Easter candle and how important it is. We will look at the different symbols on the candle and what they mean. The candle is special, a sign of celebration, a reminder that Jesus who died on the cross is alive again – the light of the world. We will sing Alleluia and Easter/new life songs.
We will pray together, share the Wednesday Word and read stories from the Bible.
Communication, language and literacy
Our story this week is Cinderella. We will share, talk, draw and write about what happens in the story and talk about the different characters. We will write an invitation to the ball. We will continue to listen, say and write sounds in words/ read CVC and high frequency words and read/write sentences. We are going to play the phonic game “full circle” with long vowel sounds/ sh, ch /and CVC words.
Mathematics
We are going to add by counting on, compare heights, recognise and order numbers to 20 and talk about 3D shape properties.
Physical Development
1-     PE session – ball skills
2-    Outdoor wheeled toys
3-    Supported handwriting sessions per week, pencil grip and formation. Dough disco
4-    Healthy eating and importance of good hygiene
5-    Talk about our behaviour in different situations –safety.
Understanding the world/Expressive arts and design.

ICT – Espresso and programs linked to learning area/ E-safety – pop ups, what should we do?
