RE
We will talk about the month of May being a special month when we think about Mary and ask her to pray for us.
We will explore Mary’s life:
Saying Yes to God and sing “Mary said Yes”.
When Mary was worried about Jesus when he was lost in the Temple.
She was with Jesus when he died on the cross.
We will talk about Mary as Jesus’ mother. We can ask her to pray for us through formal prayers e.g. Hail Mary, Rosary. We can also say our own prayers to her.
Communication,
language and literacy
We will
talk, draw and write about our visit to the farm. We will hear and write sounds
in words, leave spaces between words as we form sentence, start with a
capital letter and end with a full stop. We will focus on the sound for oo, ar and or and word build using the sounds we know.Mathematics
We will count lots of different farm animals and solve mathematical problems at the farm and in class! We will count to 20 and beyond and count in 2s, 5s and 10s.
We will use the language of weight and explore making weight comparisons.
Physical Development
We are developing our large and small ball skills and also fitness skills - star jumps, running (in a line!), jumping in a hoop. We will observe and talk about the effect exercise has on our body.
We will be know how important it is to wash our hands at the farm to keep healthy.
The world
We will make predictions about where an animal lives, what they eat, animals and their young and compare technology used on the farm with other environments.
Expressive arts and design
We will paint pictures and make collages of farm animals, their young and our visit to the farm.
