RE
We will
prepare and celebrate a class Prayer service together, talking about what
“prayer” is. What prayers do we know? When do we say prayers in school
(assembly/class/Mass) and at home?
Communication,
language and literacy
Over the
next two weeks we will be writing about our Class Assembly and “The Pig in the
Pond” story. We will use phonics skills, high frequency words, handwriting and
sentence structure skills to write independently.We will
be un jumbling sentences and reading the big books “The Pig in the Pond”, “Noah’s
Big Boat” and “Titch”.
Physical
Development
We will
practice different races in preparation for Sports Day. We will continue to
develop our large and small ball skills.
Mathematics
Lots of shopping this week! We will
count in twos, fives and tens and use addition and subtraction up to 10p/20p.
We will
solve “real life” addition and subtraction problems using our number fans.
Understanding
the world
We will
take part in a sorting activity - comparing environments and thinking about
which environment an animal may live in.
We will
compare Weather/Seasons/Materials – use and purposes of materials – which
material would be best to keep dry?
Materials
– we will describe and compare different materials in a Feely Bag.
Expressive
arts and design
We will design and collage/paint an animal mask. We will
prepare for our assembly using songs, role play and talking about what we are
doing and would like to do.
